Work with a well-established Older Adult Mental Health Team, including training registrars, nursing, and allied health staff.
Collaborate with general practitioners and other healthcare professionals.
Supervise and train medical students and junior doctors, including training registrars.
Participate in research projects relevant to mental health services.
Join the on-call roster for the mental health team and the ECT roster.
About the Team: Based in Albany with outreach services across the region and a regular visiting clinic in Katanning.
Collaborate with the local geriatrics team on memory services.
Involvement in innovative projects like the sexuality in dementia project and the role of a dementia navigator.
Opportunities for service improvement, research, and teaching with local Rural Clinical School and Universities.
Co-located with a 16-bed adult inpatient unit and community mental health services.
Ideal Candidate: Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia in psychiatry.
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or approved equivalent.
Extensive clinical experience in older adult mental health.
