Your Role at St John of God Midland Hospital You will provide specialist Intensive Care medicine to adult medical/medical subspecialty, surgical, obstetric, and toxicologic patients within the Intensive Care Unit and High Dependency Unit. The position is for a twelve-month fixed term part-time position at .75 Fte.
The Position Manage the ICU and HDU team, including trainees, nursing, and ancillary staff Collaborate with local and outside hospital medical and surgical specialists Admission, management, discharge and transfer of ICU/HDU patients Twice daily bedside rounds Participate in twice weekly multidisciplinary rounds Participate in evening, night and weekend shifts as per the roster, including participation on the on-call roster Afterhours management of ICU/HDU patients and assist hospital-wide with unstable or complex patients Participate in the training and supervision of ICU trainees, nursing staff, and ancillary staff Lead ICU outreach and Medical Emergency Response team Theatre, ward and ED consultations Total parenteral nutrition support Intra-hospital and inter-hospital transport of critically ill patients Provide specialist Intensive Care services to patients within the hospital You will have Registration by the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand.
You will have demonstrated substantial clinical experience in the management of high acuity patients in a complex hospital environment and be competent in the common ICU procedures.
