Consultant CardiologyCC Medical location: Darwin NT.Salary package: $337,429.Desirable Sub-Specialty: Training in Advanced Cardiac Imaging (including echo, CT-coronary angiography or Cardiac MRI) or Heart Failure.

A beautiful and unique part of the world with high-quality educational facilities, vibrant community, many art and sporting facilities, and a backyard that many travel across the world to see.Responsibilities: Provide strong leadership and manage all aspects of the day-to-day activities within Cardiology and the Department of Medicine, focusing on patient safety and quality of services.
Provide high-quality safe inpatient, outpatient, and outreach clinical services in Internal Medicine.Initiate and partake in quality management activities.Performance appraisal and personal and Departmental continuing education programs.Ensure adequate supervision of and participation in teaching programs for junior medical staff, including advanced trainees and medical students.Undertake Clinical Audit activities and research as appropriate.Participate in relevant Hospital Committees and other administrative duties as required.Provide advice to the Director of Medical and Clinical Services on matters relating to Internal Medicine.Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.Hospital Overview: The Hospital is a 189 bed Hospital, the only acute secondary care service for 1500km in any direction, and more than 60% of admissions are Aboriginal people often from remote communities.
The hospital provides Day Procedure, Emergency, Intensive Care and High Dependency, Maternity, Medical, Outpatients, Paediatric, Special Care Nursery, Surgical and Mental Health services.Skills & Qualifications: Appropriate specialist qualifications and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or equivalent.
Interest in Indigenous health and ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
Good verbal and written skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Eligible for specialist medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).Benefits: Competitive remuneration, career progression, and a unique challenge.
