About The Role

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially-minded lawyer with 3+ years of post-admission experience to join our Construction and Infrastructure Team.

This is a great opportunity to join a four-partner practice working on front-end and back-end matters in construction, infrastructure, and mining services.
The partners are hands on and readily accessible.

The front-end work will include:

preparing tender documents;

reviewing contracts for clients and drafting clarification schedules; and

drafting and negotiating various forms of contracts (eg construct-only contracts, consultancy agreements, D&C contracts, ECI agreements, and services agreements).

The back-end work will include:

providing strategic advice on claims management and contract disputes;

preparing, and responding to, applications for adjudication under the security of payment legislation;

representing parties in arbitration proceedings; and

representing parties in litigation in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, the District Court and State Administrative Tribunal.

About You

You will have previous experience within either:

general litigation;

a mixed front-end and back-end construction team;

a disputes team with experience in construction and infrastructure disputes; or

a front-end construction or projects team.

We are open to considering candidates with a general litigation background who have a desire and willingness to work across all areas of construction and infrastructure law.

You will be encouraged to build and maintain excellent client relationships and collaborate with others to deliver desired outcomes.
In addition to the relevant legal experience, you will also have

interest in business development and attending events;

a desire to learn and continuously improve;

strong attention to detail and technical skills;

strong work ethic with a commitment to excellence; and

excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
