Applications are invited for the position of Constituent Manager (EOB) in the Forde Electorate in Beenleigh, QLD.
This is a full-time ongoing position.
The Federal Member for Forde and Chief Opposition Whip, Bert van Manen MP is looking for a highly motivated professional with experience to join his electorate office team.
Primary Duties: Receiving and co-ordinating constituent enquiries including written correspondence, telephone enquiries and assisting with issues campaigns Understanding and ability to interpret Government Policy and Legislation Triaging constituent email correspondence Liaising with relevant Government Departments and Ministerial Offices on behalf of constituents regarding matters relating to Immigration, NDIS, Centrelink, Australian Taxation Office etc Researching and writing Ministerial representations Data entry and database management Maintain constituent information and contact details Representing the Member in constituent meetings Acting as the first point of contact with constituents and other visitors to the office Other duties as directed by the Office Manager Applicants should have the following skills and experience: Effective oral and highly advanced written communication skills Proven research ability and the capacity to interpret complex material and recraft for a broader audience Well-developed office and IT skills including Microsoft Office Excellent organisation ability and time management skills Strong interpersonal skills The maturity to deal with members of the public who are experiencing distress Excellent attention to detail Sound analytical/diagnostic skills with a proven ability to quickly identify the nature of a problem or issue Experience in a similar administrative role or previous work in a political office will be highly regarded Employment conditions: The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27.
A commencing salary between $74,095 and $86,506 will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills An additional optional allowance may be considered in recognition of and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable An initial probationary period of three months will apply and may be subject to extension. The successful applicant may be required to undergo a National Police History Check.
