Company Description The Mercure Townsville is a leading corporate and leisure conference, weddings, and events venue in the North Queensland region. Comprised of 7 fully functional board rooms and ballrooms as well as an enclosed deck, ample lawns, and outside function space. Job Description The Mercure Townsville is on the hunt for a creative and energetic administration expert to support our Sales team. Your strong administration skills and precise eye to detail will ensure the smooth running of our Conference and Events department.
Assist in the maintenance of our conference database of key contacts/clients Assist in the preparation and follow-up of conference proposals Actively listen to clients and understand their needs Assist with the formulation of quotations for conference proposals covering venue, function, menu, and accommodation costs Coordination and production of conference collateral material Collaborate with multiple hotel departments for each event's success Qualifications Superior time management and organisational skills, including the ability to work under pressure with competing deadlines Excellent attention to detail and methodical organisational skills Initiative to seek solutions strategically where problems exist Service driven A creative flair to assist with the design of conference collateral Working knowledge of the Opera computer system (desirable) Sound computer skills in the Microsoft Computer Suite Additional Information Due to the permanent nature of this position, we are only considering candidates who possess long-term work rights in Australia.
