The Opportunity We are seeking a Conference and Events Manager to join our 100-room Monarto luxury resort and lodge, opening to the public mid-2025. The Conference and Events Manager is responsible for planning, organising, and curating a variety of conferences and events to shape lasting memories for our guests. Additionally, this position is accountable for achieving revenue targets associated with these events, ensuring financial goals are met while delivering exceptional experiences.
The role will:
End-to-end event planning and coordination through strong guest relationship management.Curation and event development, creating 'champagne' moments for our guests.Main point of contact for guests from initial inquiry through to post-event follow-up.Prepare, monitor, and manage event budgets.Work closely with the banquets and events team to ensure seamless execution of events.Coordinate with various departments, including catering, audio-visual, and housekeeping, to meet guest expectations.Active participation in networking events, trade shows and industry events.Develop and manage budgets for banquet events, ensuring profitability while maintaining high service standards.Prepare and present compelling proposals for prospective guests including pricing, menu options, and event logistics to secure bookings.Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions to ensure repeat business and referrals.About you: You will be a go-getter who is results-oriented while equally guest-focused. A qualification in Sales, Business or a related field is advantageous while previous experience in a banquet sales role is essential, preferably in hotels/tourism/hospitality. You will be highly self-motivated and have the ability to work under pressure when required.
