About the Role We are seeking Concreters at our Olympic Dam site to work in our site crew to carry out civils works and other related duties safely, to quality and time specification and standards and assist in other areas as required.
Successful candidates will provide civil support and expertise to other trades and workgroups.
This role may be offered as a residential or DIDO role, depending on the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities Ensure that civil works carried out are compliant with all relevant standards.
Competently and safely operate machinery, tools and equipment to perform civil tasks.
Ability to read and interpret civil plans and drawings.
Ensure quality standards are maintained.
Examine work for defects and ensure conformance with specifications.
Log information and fulfil administrative requirements associated with your role with a high degree of accuracy and in a timely manner.
Provide direction to Trade Assistants in the performance of their duties.
Ensure all respective works comply with relevant Australian Standards, BCA, Local Ordinances and other relevant codes and standards.
Ensure that work is organised and executed in a timely manner.
Material, labour, plant and equipment is used as effectively and efficiently as possible.
Participate in shift/swing hand over prior to finishing work to ensure other employees are aware of all relevant information.
Represent Ahrens in a professional manner whenever working and/or in Ahrens uniform and/or vehicle.
Ensure that all tools and equipment are clean and well maintained.
Operate vehicles, plant and equipment and tools in a proper manner.
Undertake all other reasonable tasks and duties that are peripheral to your role and within your skill and ability, as directed.
Skills and Experience 5 year minimum experience in Civil Construction or equivalent.
Proficient in concreting (Screeding, Hand finishing) and related civil works, in residential, commercial and industrial environments, with demonstrated prior experience.
Construction Induction (White card).
Forklift License.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Class C drivers license.
Willingness to work at other Ahrens Group locations if required.
Holding additional high risk tickets and licenses will be beneficial.
Concrete Boom Pump Licence (desirable).
Trowel Machine Experience (desirable).
