The conciliator is required to have excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills to manage clients through complex and at times challenging subject matter. This role is responsible for a file load of complaints, identifying and addressing power imbalances and clarifying the issues in dispute. facts. 
 A key component of the role is to design a resolution process which is most suitable for each dispute managed to optimize the potential for resolution in a timely manner. A conciliator provides easily understood and accessible information to clients about the relevant legislation and case law that may apply to the particular dispute.
Some of your duties will include:
Deliver a high-level dispute resolution service under the Victorian Equal Opportunity Act 2010 and Racial and Religious Tolerance Act 2001Manage a high-volume caseload in a timely manner, setting priorities and meeting organisational performance standardsUndertake pre-conciliation discussions with clients and explore resolution at an early stage of the disputeUndertake conciliation and facilitated negotiation of disputes using specialist knowledge of the law, manage and resolve complex problems and expectations of clients. The role also requires the conciliator to generate a range of solutions and outcomes with an aim to optimize the potential for resolutionFacilitate post conciliation negotiations, including preparing terms of settlement as required To learn more about this role before applying, please read the attached position description.

Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills to manage clients through complex and at times challenging subject matter.Strong problem-solving skills to address complex problems, effectively gather relevant information and providing suitable solutions and outcomes.Relevant knowledge and understanding of current practices, policies and legislation within equal opportunity and human rights.Qualifications A relevant tertiary qualification or commensurate professional experience is desirable.
