About the Role Reporting to the Head of Legal, Risk, and Compliance, this position will be responsible for assisting to achieve best practice in compliance and risk management.
As a Compliance Specialist, you will provide leadership on compliance management to all business areas and assist with implementing the Compliance Management Framework.
While this role is predominantly focused on the Australian Operations, there may be overlap with other regions i.e.
Spain and Botswana.
Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to): Embed, maintain and oversee the Sandfire Compliance Management Framework, and drive the continuous improvement framework.Enhance and embed the annual compliance program.Lead and manage the application of compliance technology tools.Support compliance performance reporting and regular compliance management reports for the Sandfire Management Team, Board, and Board sub-committees.Manage administration of regulatory compliance management, including but not limited to:Support the development and maintenance of all global and Australian compliance policies and procedures, compliance obligation registers, a regulatory compliance schedule and an enterprise non-compliance register.Support the implementation of regulatory change for compliance framework.Develop tools, templates and processes required to support compliance management.Provide support to the Botswana operations as required.Support engagement and liaison activities with regulators and authorities.Build operational awareness of the compliance framework.Undertake and support assurance and monitoring activities for the operations.Collaborate closely with members of the Governance, Risk, Compliance and Legal teams to provide a seamless, comprehensive service to the business.Actively facilitate a culture of compliance.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.Other duties as per operational requirements.
About You Degree qualifications in law, risk, accounting, commerce, business management or similar discipline.Post-graduate qualifications or certification in compliance or risk would be highly regarded.Demonstrated extensive work experience in compliance, risk and/or audit teams.Experience in managing end to end risk and compliance in a multi-jurisdiction, medium-large organisation.Sound understanding of GRC related ISO standards, including 37301:2021 - Compliance Management Systems.Ability to interpret and apply complex policy and legislation, and an understanding of parliamentary process relating to regulatory change.Strong working knowledge of compliance, risk, governance, and assurance methodology.Experience in Project Management.Experience in the mining and exploration sector is highly regarded but not mandatory.Sandfire Resources NL is a dynamic mid-tier Australian mining and exploration company which is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX Ticker: SFR).
