We are seeking a dynamic Governance & Compliance Specialist to work within our distinguished Consumer Lines Underwriting Agencies, a proud subsidiary of the Steadfast Group.
This pivotal role, based in Melbourne, requires close collaboration with the Head of Consumer Lines.
You will play a critical support role in upholding our esteemed standards of risk management, compliance, and governance frameworks.
This position ensures we comply with internal regulatory standards and the governance frameworks of our insurer partners by helping manage key data for audits and binder governance.
It plays a crucial role in conducting audits, helping to manage risks, and overseeing third-party vendors, focusing on ensuring compliance and operational integrity.
Responsibilities Vendor Compliance Monitoring: oversee third-party vendors' compliance. Audit Management: conduct internal and external audits, acting as the primary contact. Risk Management: identify, assess, and mitigate risks working within frameworks such as CPS 230. Compliance Monitoring & Reporting: conduct regular risk assessments and compliance reviews. Insurer Partner Governance: support the alignment of business operations with insurer partners' governance frameworks. Vendor Governance & Oversight: assist in evaluating vendor governance structures. Skills and Knowledge 3+ years' experience in compliance, risk, legal, or audit roles within financial services or insurance. Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent insurance qualifications or experience. Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks such as CPS 230, RG 271, and insurance governance standards. Ability to partner and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at various levels, establish and maintain strong professional relationships, and influence outcomes. Experience in managing third-party vendors and suppliers, with a focus on compliance and risk management. Proven track record of conducting audits and providing compliance training.
