The roleA Junior Compliance Officer is sought to join this successful group. You will be part of the legal team and will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer. You will be responsible for ensuring the group adheres to all relevant regulations and company policies. You will also assist with the management of legal issues on a day-to-day basis under the direction of the Chief Legal Officer. Your key responsibilities will include:Developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust compliance frameworkmonitoring and ensuring adherence to mandatory reportingConducting thorough due diligence on potential suppliersIdentifying and mitigating potential compliance risksMaintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant Australian building codes, industry standards, and procurement regulationsCollaborating with the procurement team to ensure all purchases comply with established standardsConducting training sessions for internal stakeholders on procurement compliance proceduresMaintaining, updating, and rolling out of template agreements in collaboration with cross functional stakeholdersLiaising with the Senior Leadership Team and external law firms regarding corporate secretarial mattersReviewing, drafting, Lisa and/or developing non-complex legal documents (e.g., Non-Disclosure Agreements) and communications independentlyIndependently handling legal and/or factual research as requiredAbout youYou will have 3 years or more experience in a compliance role with a strong understanding of compliance regulations and best practices, ILPA, Modern Slavery, FSC Certification and Climate related financial disclosures. Strong written and oral communications skills and the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with the business is required. Legal qualifications are preferred.
