About the Role Located at our Head Office in Elermore Vale, the Compliance, Governance & Risk Manager is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of Atwea adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and standards set by government and regulatory bodies. This role is crucial in analysing and managing the strategic, operational, and compliance risks that impact the organisation. The Manager will develop, implement, and review effective risk management frameworks, conduct thorough investigations, and provide comprehensive assessments and reports on the organisation's risk profile. The primary purpose of this role is to lead the Compliance, Governance, and Risk team, ensuring that corporate governance, risk management, and assurance functions are performed in alignment with both internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
This full-time role requires an individual to work closely with multiple teams to identify potential risks, implement robust compliance programs, and drive a culture of compliance.
Successful applicants should be able to confidently:
Develop, implement, and maintain Atwea's Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), ensuring it aligns with the organisation's strategic objectives and risk tolerance. Ensure that all policies, procedures, and training materials related to governance, risk management, and compliance are up to date and effective. Oversee the management and coordination of insurance policy renewals and claims to support organisational needs. Manage and maintain the corporate governance calendar, proactively planning actions to meet required timeframes and ensure compliance with constitutional requirements for members and directors. Develop and present risk analysis and progress reports tailored to different stakeholder groups, including the Strategic Leadership Team, CEO, Board, and Committees. Conduct root cause analysis across all levels of the organisation as needed, providing insights and recommendations for risk mitigation. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans. Provide relevant education and training to Atwea staff on risk, governance, and compliance, fostering a strong culture of awareness and management across the organization. Develop and embed a clear risk and compliance structure across Atwea, enabling consistent application of risk practices throughout the organization. About You You already live by the values of Inclusion, Integrity and Innovation. Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in Law, Business/Commerce and/or Risk Management and Investigation Services. Minimum of 5 years' experience and understanding of compliance and proactive risk management at an organisational level. Recent experience in an education or training services environment (desirable). Experience working in complex and changing environments, with adaptability and resilience. Experience in conducting workplace investigations. Knowledge of relevant regulatory obligations. Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders. Sound decision-making skills, balanced reasoning and driven by data and insights. Proven experience developing and implementing an internal audit schedule. Understanding of constitutional requirements. Excellent working skills using the MS Office Suite. Atwea College requires: Valid NSW Working With Children Check and current National Criminal Police Record Check prior to the commencement of employment.
