About the role
The Compliance Analyst, in the Country Banking Australia is primarily responsible for assisting with implementation and enhancement of the compliance management framework within Country Banking. The key objective is to drive Data and Privacy governance to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, Group and Local Policies and standards to drive awareness and accountability in line with three lines of responsibility.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Support CB Portfolio Management team in the identification of risks (including emerging risks), ensuring that controls are effective and efficient in both design and operation.
Provide advice and training to the business, engage with 2nd line Compliance in relation to new regulations, changes to regulations, and post-implementation reviews of regulatory change.
Ensure incidents and issues have been remediated appropriately and focus on continual improvement with special attention to Data and Privacy risks.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Compliance advice: research compliance/regulatory obligations and current business processes and controls to support the CB Portfolio Management team in their provision of timely and commercial advice to the business.
Support in development, implementation and maintenance of Obligations register, associated risk, and controls into business practice for Country Banking.
Support the development and maintenance of controls monitoring and testing process and conduct compliance reviews.
Review and implement changes to compliance process and procedures.
Support in record keeping management for business and act as a record keeping coordinator.
Data and Privacy Operating Model: assist with the design and implementation of the regulatory/compliance framework for Data and Privacy domain and adoption of Data and Privacy Operating Model.
Privacy by Design: provide support and coordinate periodic review of the Privacy Impact Assessments and coordinate the completion of any remediation activities.
Record of Processing Activities (ROPA): provide support in coordinating annual review of the ROPA.
Incident Management: assist the Risk and Compliance Managers and Regional Managers in the assessment and management of compliance incidents, regular monitoring, and focused reviews, analysing results, reporting and follow up on remedial action.
Compliance Reporting: provide input and assistance to compliance Reporting including Data and Privacy KPI metrics, as required.
Regulatory Reporting: assist in completion of key regulatory returns for ASIC and BCCC, whilst maintaining active registers on outstanding actions.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Bachelor of Commerce/Economics/Business/Laws or relevant industry qualification, or proven solid banking and finance expertise.
Experience in the Banking & Financial Services industry, including at least 1+ years' experience in Legal, Compliance or Operational Risk in organisations of a similar size and complexity.
An understanding of banking and finance operations.
A knowledge of causes, influences and drivers of Data and Privacy risk.
Experience in managing risk, evaluating risk, and reviewing risk.
Experience of working in a Risk or Compliance team within a business unit in a role with Compliance responsibilities.
