We are seeking an experienced PFAS Management Specialist to lead critical initiatives within the PFAS Airports Investigation Program. This role will provide technical expertise, engage with stakeholders, and develop policy advice to ensure robust PFAS management strategies are implemented across participating airports.
Key Responsibilities: Develop a comprehensive PFAS Management Plan template for airports in the Program. Offer technical guidance and advice on PFAS management at airports. Collaborate with airport site leads and consultants to establish effective PFAS management objectives. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate and implement PFAS management strategies. Conduct research and analysis to provide policy advice on PFAS management, aligning with industry best practices. Contribute to broader section and branch initiatives, including airport PFAS investigations. Prepare briefing materials and correspondence. Foster teamwork and collaboration across sections and branches. Demonstrate resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment. Build team capability through coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities. About You: Qualifications: Degree in environmental science (or equivalent). Experience: Minimum 5+ years in contaminated land management, including expertise in PFAS. Knowledge: Familiarity with national frameworks for contaminated land and PFAS management. Skills: Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capabilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong research, analysis, and problem-solving abilities. Please note an Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain Baseline security clearance are mandatory. This is a Canberra-based role.
