Job Description As the Company Accountant at McGregor Gourlay, you will play a pivotal role in the Head Office team through supporting the Chief Financial Officer and wider business network. Based at either our Moree or Toowoomba premises, this permanent, full-time position within the Accounting & Finance team offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong financial acumen and analytical skills. Key responsibilities and tasks include:
Supporting the CFO in managing and overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the company. Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and forecasts. Key involvement in developing and implementing internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. Conducting thorough analysis of financial data to support strategic decision-making. Participating in budget planning and monitoring to support effective resource allocation. Supporting the CFO in providing financial insights and recommendations to senior management based on comprehensive analysis. Provide assistance with half and full year end reporting, budgeting, board reporting and audits. Collaborating with external auditors to facilitate annual audits. Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and coordinating tax filing processes. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software. Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams. Key involvement in any financial related correspondence and other ad hoc questions relating to the operations of the business. The ideal candidate will possess a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent, along with proven experience in a similar role. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team are essential for success in this role. Desired Skills and Experience Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
