About the Role
As a Community Support Worker based in our Singleton and Muswellbrook Hub, you will play an essential role in supporting and empowering people with disability to live a life of their choosing. This will include working across community access supports and in our day programs. Working in both a team environment and independently, you will provide a range of services assisting clients to live independently, be actively involved in their local community, and engaged in meaningful opportunities.

As a Support worker in our day program, your key focuses will be: Community Integration: Supporting clients to live an active lifestyle and participate in their community through the delivery of a range of person-centred programs.Life skills: Bring your supportive attitude to help build capacity for our clients in an area that they are passionate about.Personal Care: Assist and support clients with personal and hygiene care.Behaviour Plans: Adapt to clients' individual needs, this could be working with behaviour support plans by utilising positive behaviour strategies.Family Interaction: Communication with families about clients' progress.Transport: Driving clients to and from our day programs, in our Sunnyfield van.Admin Tasks: Maintenance of progress notes and record-keeping. This permanent part-time position will require you to work some afternoons and 1 weekend in a month. Flexibility to work across these shifts is a must!

Key focus:
Supporting clients to live an active lifestyle and participate in their community through the delivery of a range of person-centred programs. Assisting with transportation of clients to the hub and/or appointments. Work to behaviour support plans by utilising positive behaviour strategies. Assist and support clients with personal and hygiene care, if required. Communication with families about clients' progress. Maintenance of progress notes and record-keeping.

About You
You are passionate about making a difference! As a positive and energetic person, you want to contribute and provide exceptional support to our clients. You want to be part of a fun and dynamic environment, so teamwork is something you love. You have a flair for creativity, whilst also being organised. You will demonstrate the ability to engage, communicate and build partnerships with people.

Experience in the Disability sector is a must. Demonstrated knowledge of supporting high needs clients and/or clients with behaviours of concern. Ability to support others with personal and hygiene care and happy for this to be part of your job. Personal qualities of resilience, empathy, self-confidence and compassion. High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude while acting with integrity, honesty and respect.
