What are we looking for? We are currently looking for compassionate Community Support Workers (In-home Carers) in the Illawarra region to join our team. We have a number of casual positions available, with shifts between 7:00am and 8:00pm, Monday to Sunday, across various locations. We aim to roster our workers to their local area, and require consistency in our team to support clients.
Ideally, candidates should have consistent availability across a minimum of 3 days per week and we are specifically looking for individuals with afternoon and weekend availability.
Many of our clients come from diverse backgrounds, so the ability to speak another language, particularly Macedonian or Greek, would be highly regarded.
The role involves: Personal care such as grooming and hygiene, general self care and assistance with dressing as appropriate to client's capacity;Medication support and assistance such as medication reminders, support with Webster packs or insulin and blood pressure checks (with relevant training);Community support such as assistance with daily community interactions and appointments, assistance with grocery shopping, attending outdoor activities and meeting up with social groups;Transportation such as taking clients to medical or personal appointments, collection or drop off at services or shopping; andHousehold assistance such as meal preparation, cooking of meals and general help around the home.To be successful in this role you will have: a great attitude with a genuine interest in helping others;an understanding of the care needs of older people and a commitment to providing quality care;the ability to work independently in an unsupervised environment;previous experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential);a valid Drivers Licence and access to a fully insured vehicle;a Mobile Phone with Internet access;willingness to undertake a National Police Check History check;valid working rights in Australia; anda minimum of three COVID-19 vaccination doses and willingness to obtain the annual Influenza vaccination each year.Our team members enjoy: Working in a supportive environment in a position that offers variety and makes a difference to someone's life;Access to our company benefits initiatives and wellness programs;Employee Referral (Refer a Friend) Scheme; andPaid travel time between clients, and reimbursement of travel kilometres.allcare is committed to creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and inclusion.
