As a foundation club of the local league, Port Adelaide achieved unparalleled success that included 36 SANFL premierships.
Subsequently, Port Adelaide is the only community football club from outside of Victoria to be elevated into the national competition on its own merits.
Today, the club has over 70,000 loyal members and consistently competes in front of significant crowds at Adelaide Oval during the AFL season, and at the recently redeveloped Alberton Oval during the AFLW and SANFL seasons.
In 2010, Power Community Limited (PCL) was established as the not-for-profit charity arm of the Port Adelaide Football Club.
PCL use the power of elite Australian Rules Football to promote meaningful social change through education programs that empower communities in need.
Our programs cover some of the key issues in society including; health, wellbeing and resilience; gender inequality and respectful relationships; cultural awareness and reconciliation; youth education pathways and retention; and employment transitions.
PCL programs engage over 40,000 people each year across South Australia and the Northern Territory.
The Role The Program Facilitator role at Power Community Limited (PCL), the community development arm of the Port Adelaide Football Club, is a dynamic position focused on driving impactful change. This role is pivotal in delivering transformative educational programs for Aboriginal, Multicultural, and Youth communities.
Program Facilitation Facilitate PCL's educational programs, creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment for participants.Ensure that all necessary program equipment and resources are transported to sessions, maintaining organization and readiness for each event.Respond to and facilitate additional community requests as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to community needs.Capture compelling photos, testimonials, and positive narratives from PCL community programs, helping to showcase the impact of our initiatives. Distribute and collect program evaluations to gather valuable feedback, ensuring continuous improvement and responsiveness to participant needs.Key competencies Demonstrated experience facilitating and leading workshops and community-based programs, effectively engaging participants and creating interactive learning environments.A relevant qualification in community development, education, or a related field (Desirable)Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, positively representing the business at all times.Ability to carry out duties autonomously, and work effectively in a team environmentStrong organisational skills.Passion for community engagement and social impact, with an understanding of the power of sport to drive positive change.Additional Information This position will involve some travel to regional and remote communities in South Australia and the Northern Territory.A valid driver's license and Working with Children Check (WWCC) are required for this role.Applications for this position will close on 3pm on Wednesday 20 November 2024.
