Community Development (Community Services & Development) Full time Salary: $85,355.26 per annum + Super + Salary Packaging
You are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Community Pantry.
Communities at Work's Community Pantries provide food, household, and personal care items to individuals and groups who are experiencing hardship. The pantries are stocked through weekly food collections from local grocery stores and donations from various community organizations.
You and the volunteers you manage provide a safe and welcoming space for all who visit our pantries.
This role is based in Tuggeranong (Greenway). Occasionally, you may be requested to work at other sites to cover for colleagues on leave.
Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Community Pantry including point of sale, monitoring and ordering of stock, and administration to ensure the provision of an effective, efficient, and appropriate service to the community. Supervise and coordinate Pantry volunteers including onboarding, training, supervision, rostering, and communication. Ensure compliance with Food Safety requirements (e.g. through stock control, temperature checks, and cleaning and sanitizing). Coordinate activities/events, including the Christmas campaign on site. Work with the Senior Manager and wider team to identify and implement continuous improvement projects for the Community Pantry and Communities at Work's Community Service Programs. Liaise with internal and external programs for the purpose of consistency, relationship building, and stock level control. Administrative duties including data collection, maintenance of database, point of sale, volunteer files, reporting, and invoicing. Occasionally you will be required to cover for the Crisis Support Worker/Coordinator and provide crisis support to clients including information, referral, and material aid. Build and maintain networks and community engagement to promote the Community Pantry. Other duties as required. What We Need from You: Maintain current "Working With Vulnerable People" registration. Experience coordinating staff or volunteers. Qualifications or experience in Community Services or Social Welfare sector. Proven capacity and ability to exercise sound judgment and show initiative. Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer and database skills. Demonstrated capability to engage effectively and build productive appropriate relationships with internal and external stakeholders and clients. Retail Experience. Food safety experience.
