Through a variety of services including employment, housing, short-term accommodation, skills development, and daily support, Orana helps people with disabilities work and live independently within their communities.
The Opportunity
Orana is seeking a passionate and dedicated Community Options Coach to provide person-centred support to individuals with disability. This role plays a key part in enabling clients to achieve their community and recreation goals while fostering a positive, engaging, and interactive environment. The Community Options Program operates across Adelaide from Monday to Friday, with additional support required for evening and weekend programs.
As a Community Options Coach, you will facilitate inclusive community activities, assist with personal care, promote skill development, and advocate for your clients, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and included in all aspects of community life.
Key Responsibilities Provide direct support to individuals with disability, facilitating access to programs and activities.Promote a positive, interactive experience that encourages community engagement and participation.Support clients with personal care, life skills, and social engagement, fostering independence.Apply person-centred approaches to assist clients in managing behaviours of concern and achieving their personal goals.Work collaboratively with team members and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality services.Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and administrative duties are completed in a timely manner.Support safe environments, including assisting with mobility and following health and safety procedures.Providing support to young people at camps twice yearly. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability).Current First Aid and CPR certificates.Experience working with individuals with disability in community or day settings.Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft CRM.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and use your initiative.NDIS Worker Check (renewed every 5 years) and National Police Certificate (renewed every 3 years).Current Working with children's check Current driver's licence and willingness to use a personal vehicle for work-related travel.Covid-19 vaccination (Dose 1, Dose 2, and Booster).
