Community Legal Centres Queensland | Sector Engagement Worker (Dfv Sector Capacity Building Project) – Tenants Queensland

Tenants Queensland is a specialist state-wide community legal service that provides free tenancy law advisory services for residential tenants. TQ was established in 1986 and seeks to represent the interests of all Queenslanders who rent their home, including those living in marginal tenures such as caravan parks and rooming accommodation. We pride ourselves on providing specialist advisory services to renters, advocating on their behalf, and securing improvements to Queensland's residential tenancy laws.
This position is part-time. The worker will be located in one of Tenants Queensland's offices, either in Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville, or Rockhampton (dependent on the successful applicant). Some travel may be required.
The role is to engage and inform the DFV Sector about the DFV Sector Capacity Building Project, with a focus on services working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders experiencing DFV, and to advise TQ on culturally appropriate service delivery.
You will have a strong commitment to the principles of social justice, the ability to network, and relate to people from different cultural backgrounds, including those with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage. Good conceptual, analytical, and organizational skills, as well as highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including computer literacy and data entry skills, are essential.
