As the Community Development Officer, you will advocate for community needs and assist with Council-nominated advocacy initiatives and support the delivery of community engagement activities, approved community projects and Place Based Planning in line with Council policy and process.
You will help create a connected and healthy community where everyone feels they belong and can contribute.
You will have the skills to maintain quality professional relationships with government agencies, elected representatives, and the ability to work in partnership with community organisations and residents.
You will need to be a pro-active thinker with well-developed interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude who keeps the community at the heart of all they do.
To be successful for this role you will require: Tertiary Qualifications in Community Development, Social Services, Health, Education, or related discipline is desirable, or relevant experience.Proven experience in planning, delivering, and facilitating initiatives that respond to identified community priorities and opportunities.Proven experience in the community sector including knowledge of development theory and practice.Valid Working with Children Check.Valid National Police Check and Driver's Licence.For more information, please contact Marc Turri, Manager Community Partnerships on (03) 5481 2***.
