The Community Development Coordinator will actively promote and assist with the planning and development of community development initiatives which respond to the needs of the local community. If you're looking for somewhere to pursue your passion and make a difference, then this role is for you!About the RoleYou will be responsible for successfully facilitating all aspects of Council's existing community events including but not limited to National Reconciliation Week, the Lillian Hulbert Memorial Prize, Youth Week and the Seniors Festival.You will assist with the development of new services or extend existing services and programs to meet the needs of the community.You will build and maintain strong partnerships and work collaboratively with all community stakeholders.Facilitate Advisory Committee Meetings including the Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee, Crime Prevention Committee, and the Youth Council.About YouAs a Community Development Coordinator, you will:Have a tertiary qualification in a discipline relevant to this position.Demonstrate experience in coordinating community programs and community consultation.Demonstrate a high level of written and oral communication skills with experience in preparing and writing reports.Have advanced computer literacy skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite.Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines and establish work priorities.Have previous experience in Local Government.Further EnquiriesEnquiries regarding this position should be directed to Elodie Labonte, Acting Manager Tourism and Cultural Services, (02) 6799 6***.How to ApplyIf you are interested in this position with Narrabri Shire Council, we would love to hear from you!
