DescriptionAbout us No to Violence is Australia's peak body for individuals and organisations that work with men that use violence.
We provide training, sector development and advocacy across the sector.
We operate the Men's Referral Service, providing a counselling service and referral pathways directly to men who use violence.
As a pro-feminist organisation, women and children are at the centre of what we do - by ending men's use of family violence, families, individuals, and communities are safer.
We have strong values of Change, Leadership, Gender Equity and Accountability. About the role NTV is currently looking for members of diverse communities outside of Victoria who are passionate about domestic violence and inclusion to become members of the Community Advisory Council.
Community Advisors are supported by the Diversity & Inclusion Advisor who is part of the People & Culture team at NTV.
Through sharing their lived experience as members of diverse communities and with a variety of skills, Community Advisors bring consumer and community perspectives to the communication, planning and quality improvement work of NTV.
Community Advisors help keep a connection with their community and enable meaningful community input into NTV programs and organisational development.
They are to attend regular bi-monthly meetings to provide feedback, or other topic specific meetings, as required.
Advisory Council meetings may cover these three categories: Experience and Inclusion: Looking at how NTV is engaging and working with diverse communities to achieve the organisation's mission.
Advisors will support NTV to design internal processes and strategies that best meet the changing needs of various communities.Service Design and Delivery: Looking at how services are being delivered at NTV.
Community Advisors will work with NTV staff to help understand the impact of services being delivered, and support program design so they meet the needs of consumers from a range of backgrounds.Community-led topic: Community members identify topics, issues or concerns they wish to discuss with relevant staff at NTV.
Advisors with a shared lived experience or interest in the topic listen to the voice of diverse communities and support NTV to provide a suitable response where possible.An honorarium will be paid after each meeting attended to acknowledge expertise and to cover time and expenses related to attending meetings.
