As a Community Access Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals with disabilities to participate in community activities, develop social connections, and pursue their interests and hobbies. You will support clients in various settings, including recreational activities, educational programs, and vocational opportunities.
ResponsibilitiesAssist clients with disabilities to access the community and engage in social activitiesSupport clients in developing social skills and building meaningful relationshipsCollaborate with clients, their families, and other stakeholders to create individualized support plansProvide transportation and accompany clients to community outings and appointmentsEnsure the safety and well-being of clients during community activitiesAssist clients in developing and maintaining life skillsPromote independence and empower clients to make choicesDocument client progress and report any concerns to the relevant team membersParticipate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledgeAdhere to all relevant policies and procedures, including health and safety regulationsMinimum RequirementsCertificate III in Individual Support, Disability or a related field (will accept enrolled students)Previous experience in similar role preferredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively as part of a teamCompassionate, patient, and respectful towards clientsValid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicleAbility to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check and undergo a criminal record checkAvailability to work flexible hours, including weekends and eveningsFirst aid and CPR certification preferredExperience in supporting individuals with complex needs is highly desirableRemuneration: SCHADS Award - Social & Community Services
