Communications and Promotion CoordinatorWe are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Communications and Promotion Coordinator on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for improving the media exposure of Bowls Australia (BA) and the sport of bowls nationally, especially in relation to participation initiatives and national/international events. You will actively market and promote the sport of bowls and BA with key stakeholders, through content generation and advance the BA brand in the digital landscape, with a focus on new media opportunities.Key Responsibilities:Facilitate and advance BA's digital media and communication channels, especially in relation to covering participation initiatives and national/international events, including social networks and websites.Researching, writing and producing Bowls Australia content, publications and marketing materials.Events coverage (pre, during and post).Develop and maintain relationships, and ensure deliverables are met, with Tourism and Government organisations in relation to BA managed events.Work with appointed Official Manufacturer Supplier, to source and order uniform, event apparel and merchandise items.Qualifications and Skills: The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:Tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications or marketing.Excellent writing and project management skills.A clear understanding and familiarity with the digital media landscape.High degree of computer literacy; video editing skills will be highly regarded.A proactive approach, strong team focus and customer service ethic.Core experience in media relations/journalism with some marketing experience.Strong attention to detail.Deadline driven with ability to work effectively under deadline pressure.Passion and preparedness to roll up your sleeves and make things happen.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills – both verbal and written.Team player - flexibility to assist and interact with a wide range of staff/officials and stakeholders.Integrity - maintains legal, social and organisational standards and values and honours commitments.An ability to "sell a story".Prepared to travel interstate; work weekends and non-traditional hours as required.Alignment with BA's organisational values of CARE – Courage, Accountability, Respect and Excellence, exhibited by day-to-day TRIPLES behaviours of:Taking responsibilityRaising the bar; high standards and outcomesInnovation | Integrity | InclusionPurposeful collaborationListening and learning; to "know our stuff"Enjoying our workSpeaking up, speaking straightInteractions: You will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including fellow BA staff, contacts in the media, members of the high performance bowls community and State and Territory Associations, external manufacturers and Government organisations.Unique Criteria: This role offers unique challenges and opportunities, including:Significant travel to events and other media/marketing opportunities will be required;Media or communications liaison outside of office hours on occasion may be required.How to Apply: If you're passionate about promoting sport and possess the necessary qualifications and skills, we'd love to hear from you.
