About usTranslink Division is responsible for delivering public transport across Queensland, with the Communication Team focused on external communication for bus, train, ferry, and tram services and network changes.
The objective of the Communication Advisor is to deliver clear, customer-first messaging about changes on the network.
Key responsibilitiesThe role of the Communication Advisor is to develop, implement, and evaluate communication and community engagement strategies and activities to support the delivery of public transport services, changes, and initiatives.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Providing expert communication and community engagement advice to project teams, including identifying and mitigating risks.Developing, implementing, and evaluating communication and community engagement strategies to tight timeframes and within budget.Developing high-quality, tailored, and effective communication tools and content, including advertising, printed collateral, passenger information, and associated messaging.Cultivating and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders to assist Translink in achieving its goals and objectives.About youWe recognise and celebrate that everyone is unique and seek the applicant best suited to the role.

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
Mandatory qualifications and conditions• A minimum of three years of external communications experience.Highly desirable:• Degree in Marketing Communications (or similar field).• IAP2 Public Participation certificate.
Requirements of the role• Develop external communication strategies to support Translink's public transport programs and initiatives.• Write, edit, and produce a variety of external communication materials that are of high quality, accurate, consistent, and appropriately tailored for the relevant audience and situation.• Build and sustain relationships with stakeholders and work collaboratively to deliver customer-focused outcomes.• Identify risks, escalate to the Principal Advisor and Communication Manager, and assist in the development of appropriate mitigation strategies.• Actively participate in the design of new solutions and ways of working and a commitment to improvement.
