The Role: We are welcoming experienced candidates for a Casual Commis Chef position to thrive across all the sections. The Criteria: Assist the senior chefs with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, stock ordering, and menu development - incorporating seasonal fresh local produce. Have a passion for creating delicious, expertly prepared, cooked, and presented food. Keep an organized kitchen and uphold a food safety program to assist in maintaining the kitchen, food, and hygiene standards. Develop an in-depth understanding of the restaurant's concepts and menus. Lead by example in the back of house. Monitor portion and waste control. Oversee the maintenance of kitchen and food safety standards. The Skills: Hold relevant qualifications. At least a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working in a high-volume kitchen. Demonstrate motivation, commitment, and attention to detail. Effective communication skills with a growth mindset to continually learn and improve. Thrive in a high volume and high-pressure environment. Creative flair, passion, and strong knowledge of food production. High standards of cleanliness and hygiene. WHS, Food Safety and HACCP knowledge.
