Our client is seeking a
Commercial & Procurement Manager
to oversee the commercial and procurement aspects of grid-connected renewable energy projects. This role involves developing and executing procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the commercial success of projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in the renewable energy sector, with a strong understanding of procurement processes and commercial management.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies for renewable energy projects
Manage the procurement process, including tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier selection
Oversee commercial aspects of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Monitor and report on project performance, including procurement and commercial metrics
Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to align procurement with project goals
Conduct market research to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
Manage risks associated with procurement and commercial activities
Provide strategic advice on commercial negotiations and contract terms
Support contract administration and dispute resolution
Implement best practices in procurement and commercial management
Contribute to the development of project proposals and business cases
Stay updated with trends and innovations in the renewable energy sector
Mentor and develop junior team members in procurement and commercial management
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field
7+ years' experience in commercial and procurement management, preferably in renewable energy
Strong understanding of grid-connected renewable energy technologies and projects
Proven experience in negotiating and managing complex contracts
Excellent skills in procurement strategy, vendor management, and cost control
Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and industry standards
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Experience with project management and financial forecasting
Professional certifications in procurement or project management would be advantageous
