We invite you to join our client in Helensburgh and be a key driver of excellence.The Role The Commercial Officer will manage the entire spectrum of contract management tasks, from initial capture and proposal development to contract award and administration.
This crucial role involves offering business advice and collaborating with other departments to effectively handle responsibilities such as contract solicitations, negotiations, and fulfilment of terms.The role also includes ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal approval processes.
Furthermore, the officer will lead and support audits with both internal and external teams to ensure that contractual activities are properly documented and align with the negotiated agreements.So, what will you be doing as a Commercial Officer?
Oversee, advise on, and independently manage numerous complex contracts and relationships with minimal oversight:Possess a comprehensive understanding of various commercial and contract models and their appropriate application.
Ensure compliance with Terms and Conditions, identify risks, and develop solutions to address issues as they arise.
Independently recognise, define, and implement contract amendments and improvements in line with standard procedures.
Liaise internally, as well as with customers and suppliers, to support the above activities, offering relevant guidance and advice for assigned agreements.
Organise and maintain contract documentation.
Ensure all contract actions are completed promptly, including contract closure.
Keep internal and external stakeholders informed of any current issues and their resolution or mitigation.
Responsible for ensuring the commercial requirements of the prime contract are communicated to suppliers.
What are we looking for in our next Commercial Officer?
Demonstrated experience in a Commercial Officer position or a comparable contracts management role.
Extensive experience in overseeing contracts for significant projects, programmes, and intricate agreements.
In-depth understanding of commercial and contract models, along with risk management expertise.
High level of attention to detail, coupled with strong analytical, report-writing, and organisational abilities.
Capable of working effectively with stakeholders across various levels of seniority.
Desirables Experience in MOD / Defence contracts management.
Experience in a business development role, supporting capture management and bids.
