Reporting to the GM Commercial, Transport and with a dotted line report to the Services Director, the primary responsibility of the Commercial Manager is to provide commercial leadership and directly manage the commercial, risk and financial administration processes for the Alliance Contracts whilst maintaining Ventia standards and governance requirements.
The successful applicant will also be expected to develop and mentor the operational delivery teams to improve commercial acumen and ensure that Services are delivered within time, cost and quality requirements.
What you'll be doing: Being involved in all commercial interactions between the Alliance partiesBeing the commercial lead on mobilisation, procurement, and project commercial activitiesPreparation of commercial risk reviews and strategyUndertaking regular detailed reviews of project performance/compliance with standard commercial and contract administration systems and processesEnsuring commercial activities are executed in accordance with Ventia approvals and proceduresEarly detection of potential commercial issues and implementing strategy to resolve them promptly and to a satisfactory outcome.Commercially managing minor capital works projects undertaken for D&C partnersDelivery of accurate reporting to senior managementIncrease commercial acumen and knowledge of delivery teamsIdentify synergies across delivery teams and regions to streamline processes and delivery of servicesImplement actions to address legal and regulatory requirements and company business standards, processes and Group policiesParticipating and contributing to the effectiveness of Ventia safety activitiesAbout You To ensure success in this role, you will have a Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Building, Quantity Surveying, Law or business management, accompanied by extensive experience in commercial or management roles of infrastructure contracts. Specific experience in delivering infrastructure services contracts will be favourably considered.
You will also possess the experience in the following: Working as a Commercial Manager in Alliancing or PPP environments, particularly in the transport sectorMobilisation of new projects from a commercial perspectiveManagement of all commercial claims and contractual issuesMaintaining register and documentation of all commercial issuesOversight of the performance management framework (KPI / Abatements / Lane Availability)Oversight of contractual reporting and administrationManagement of Service PaymentsLeading procurement activities including market development, social procurement and aboriginal procurementEnsuring all contract accounting and financial data is maintained, analysed and reported upon as required under the Head Contract and Ventia standardsConsistent monitoring, evaluation and reporting of budgets and operational performance, service and quality standards and the efficiency of staff and processesKeeping abreast of governance, regulatory and industrial obligationsImplementation of actions to address legal and regulatory requirements and company business standards, processes and Group policiesDiversity
