Full timeCentrals, founded in 1985, has built a strong reputation as a leading contractor delivering civil construction, mining services, and land care projects throughout regional Western Australia.About the roleThe successful candidate will be responsible for optimising commercial and financial outcomes from Centrals' commercial activities, clarifying contractual requirements and ensuring the successful operational & financial performance of the business divisions. The role reports to the General Manager of Construction with project values ranging from $10M to $40M.ResponsibilitiesEstablish and manage project budget and forecasts processIn conjunction with the business leader, manage client & subcontractor claims, contract variations and disputesReview monthly claims for all contracts in a timely mannerParticipate in monthly cost reviews with the Project ManagerDrive cost control and project review processes to measure project performance and compliance to standards and proceduresAct as a key contact for the business divisions to provide assistance and guidance relating to all commercial aspects of contract executionUndertake post-contract completion reviews, analyse results and undertake corrective actionsProvide insights between commercial outcomes and operational delivery to support continuous improvement in project outcomesAssist with pre-contract commercial activitiesProvide guidance and support in the pricing analysis on tender pricing proposed by CentralsEvaluate commercial & legal risks and opportunities to ensure these are mitigated by contract terms and conditionsAssist Centrals in contract negotiationsCoordinate the preparation, negotiation and finalisation of project agreements and sub-contractsAssist the team to provide effective preparation and evaluation of operational tenders, negotiations and approval of contract documentationEnsure effective handover of successful projects from tender department to mining/civil operationsIdentify commercial opportunities within & outside current portfolioQualifications & ExperienceTertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or relevant experienceSeveral years in senior positions in construction civil infrastructure or mining and resourcesSignificant track record of commercial analysis and execution of commercially sound contractsContract management experience with thorough knowledge of contract documents, including general conditions, special conditions, scope, precedence, progress claims and variation managementSound and proven skills in negotiating and managing commercial contractsAdvanced negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management abilitiesFamiliar with QA/QC processes and requirementsGood knowledge with Cheops or Construction Industry SoftwareWhat we offerAttractive remuneration packageOpportunity to work with a well-established WA owned contractor in the Civil Construction and Mining industriesFully supportive and experienced leadership and field teamsInclusive, friendly and professional company cultureBe part of a team that embraces diverse talent, working together in a safe environment delivering strategic outcomes and creating lasting positive impacts.Central Earthmoving is an Equal Opportunity Employer that is committed to developing and maintaining a diverse workforce.
