Our Opportunity With projects in advance planning or commencing construction, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to play a leading role as we move to the next stage. This role will be based in Perth, Western Australia.
The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects during the delivery phase of the power station and power generation projects for the Projects Delivery function. The Commercial Manager will ensure that commercial strategies align with project delivery objectives, focusing on cost control, contract management, and risk mitigation while working closely with construction and project teams. The role ensures that commercial risks are identified and managed, and that ATCO's contractual obligations are met throughout the project's lifecycle. The role will require regular travel to regional South Australia.

Lead and inspire a team of talented professionals committed to excellence.A supportive and flexible environment that values your well-being and personal growth.An opportunity to enhance your civil, power, and or large-scale infrastructure background and pivot into New Energy Solutions.Contributing to the design and delivery of a large-scale power generation facility in regional South Australia.Access ongoing training, mentorship, and individual development opportunities.What Does Success Look Like Ensure all contracts related to the construction phase are managed effectively, with clear terms, obligations, and deliverables met according to project timelines.Oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and cost management processes, ensuring that the project remains within financial parameters.Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders to resolve commercial and contractual issues and drive project delivery.Identify, evaluate, and mitigate commercial risks during construction, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.Prepare and present regular financial and commercial reports, ensuring accurate forecasting and clear communication with leadership.Act as the primary point of contact for commercial disputes during the construction phase, working to resolve issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.Lead negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and pricing while maintaining positive working relationships.Ensure that all commercial activities adhere to legal, regulatory, and company standards, maintaining transparency and accountability.Exposure & Experience Bachelor's degree in business, finance, construction management, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications in project or contract management would be beneficial.Demonstrated experience in commercial management within large-scale construction projects, with a focus on contract administration and cost control.Strong understanding of construction contracts, particularly in an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) context.Experience managing commercial risk in high-value, complex infrastructure projects.Knowledge of the regulatory environment surrounding energy and hydrogen infrastructure construction in Australia.Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively with construction teams and subcontractors.At ATCO Australia, we are committed to nurturing a diverse and inclusive environment that values the contributions and perspectives of everyone on the ATCO Australia team.
