PermanentSydney - Full Time - Hybrid - Senior AssociateWe are looking for experienced litigation and regulatory lawyers to join the Office of General Counsel (OGC) team. As a member of the team, you will contribute to all aspects of managing disputes, litigation and regulatory matters (including regulatory inquiries and investigations) in a supportive and dynamic team environment. You will also work directly with all levels of the business in responding to disputes and potential disputes, advising on regulatory requirements and statutory obligations and responding to issues in real-time.Use the experience you have gained in disputes, litigation or regulatory investigations to provide our business clients with practical and effective advice. As a member of OGC, you'll make a real impact in a workplace that's human-led and tech-enabled.As a litigation or regulatory lawyer in our Office of General Counsel, your impact will be seen by: Managing actual and threatened litigation and advising on potentially contentious mattersManaging the firm's engagement with key regulatorsAdvising on disputes and potential disputesAdvising on statutory obligations and assisting with enquiries and communications with regulatory authoritiesAssisting with the review, legal analysis and preparation of advice to our business clients on a variety of matters while working closely with the organisation's risk and compliance teamsProviding focused and pragmatic solutions to address legal risk and business problemsAbout You:You have experience working with a team of lawyers including supporting and consulting more senior lawyers within the teamYou have experience and confidence in dealing with and assisting senior management (both in written and verbal communications), including an ability to draft clear and precise legal documents and communicationsYou have excellent interpersonal and commercial skills, as well as an ability to build relationships and influence with impactYou can identify and consider critical issues and assess and articulate legal risks (including likelihood and impact) so the business can make informed, risk-based commercial decisionsYou can prioritise tasks and manage workflow expectations in line with business requirementsYou are willing to be involved in a variety of matters and are enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environmentIt's time to move forward.
