As the Commercial Advisor, you will deliver play a crucial role in leading small- and large-scale infrastructure construction projects to optimise commercial outcomes ensuring that assets are constructed to the required technical and quality standards whilst achieving time and cost metrics.
With 3 days in the office, 2 days' work from home , this role is based in Southbank, Victoria and is part of the Delivery Commercial Team. This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: Utilising your commercial acumen and external stakeholder engagement to identify the appropriate solution(s) to address the needs of the project. Apply specific process and principles to initiate, plan, manage and deliver the project contracts within the project constraints (i.e. scope, time, cost). Providing strategic commercial advice throughout the construction of the infrastructure project(s) to enhance commercial outcomes for AusNet. Bringing a hands-on approach to effective contract management and administration of all contractual obligations across a board range of contracts, including head contracts with AEMO and client(s) and downstream with delivery partners. Developing and delivering contract governance and compliance frameworks focusing on project delivery, value extraction and risk management. Drafting, assessing, and managing contract claims (upstream and downstream) providing strategic and pragmatic advice to internal decision makers. Escalation of dispute proceedings to Senior Commercial Manager, where required. Leverage stakeholder communication and contract negotiation skills to influence project budgets and profitability. Develop and maintain professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders ensuring mutually beneficial client and supplier outcomes. Identification, assessment, and management of commercial opportunities within the project(s), including active participation in lessons learnt and post implementation review activities. Accountable for delivering a seamless transition of the project contracts from construction phase to operations including handover documentation and contract summaries. You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: Relevant training or qualifications in business, accounting, finance, law, or equivalent speciality. Experience in contract administration and contract management is desirable. High level of commercial acumen with an ability to clearly assess risk and implement mitigation actions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong collaboration, and negotiation skills. Capable of monitoring budget impacts and influencing project profitability through making commercially sound decisions.
