Job Description:State Clinical Coding Manager East Melbourne locationFlexible working arrangement including working from home and officeFriendly and supportive teamPermanent full-time positionAbout the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Health Information Manager to join the St Vincent's Private Melbourne team as the State Clinical Coding Manager. Reporting directly to the HIS Manager, you will be responsible for the management of our clinical coding team to ensure we meet end of month targets and continue to work towards a code right first time philosophy.

Manage a high-performing team that delivers quantity and quality resultsLead and support efficient workflowsStrengthen and maintain relationships between HIS, CDI, VMOs and site-based leaders in the pursuit of coding and documentation integrityGuide, train and mentor Clinical CodersAccurate and timely coding of separations using ICD-10-AM, ACHI and the Australian Coding Standards as well as relevant state and national adviceLiaise with relevant staff to obtain additional information required to perform accurate codingBe able to manage and prioritise own workActively participate in education, training and quality activities.WHY WORK FOR SVPHM? Applicants must have:
Bachelor of Health Information Management or Certificate IV/Diploma in Clinical ClassificationHigh level, practical knowledge of Australian Coding StandardsMinimum five years coding experienceExperience coding complex casemixExperience leading or managing teamsExperience with private sector funding models would be desirable but not essentialUnderstanding of privacy and confidentiality requirementsExcellent organisation and communication skillsStrong communication skills to effectively engage internal stakeholders and team membersA strong level of computer literacy/knowledgeABOUT ST VINCENTS PRIVATE HOSPITAL MELBOURNE Our experienced team of clinical professionals, caregivers, and support staff are equipped to provide the highest level of therapeutic, medical and surgical services.
