Job Description Great opportunity to join our team in Gladstone as a Coal technician on a casual basis.
You will be responsible but not limited to: Accurately conducting physical coal testing and analysis of routine samples.
To ensure accuracy, precision and traceability of prepared samples.
Receipting, recording, sorting and storing coal samples as required.
Assist with the preventative maintenance of all preparation and laboratory equipment.
Plan shift workflow and coordinate pick-ups and analysis.
Compliance with analytical methods, procedures and SGS Quality Systems.
Maintain safe working environment Qualifications If you have previously worked in semi manual or industrial environments, in a hands-on role, then this work would suit you. SGS will provide you with full training as required and, on the job learning, but as the successful candidate you will also have: Coal sampling, preparation and testing experience is desirable, however not mandatory.
Previous experience in general mineral laboratory environment preferred.
Good computer skills i.e.
Excel beneficial (G6 preferred, but not essential).
Ability to be a team player with strong communication skills Ability to work under pressure.
