Coal Quality Tester required to join our team and work in our PTL at Mackay on a Casual Basis.

About the PositionAn excellent opportunity has become available for Casual Coal Quality Testers to work in the Physical Testing Laboratory at our Mackay site. We are looking for suitably qualified PTL technicians and inexperienced members wanting a career change into laboratory work.
Position SynopsisReporting to the PTL Supervisors, the position requirements include but are not limited to:
Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe & efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructions.Ensuring that all work complies with National & International standards.Checking & validating all results to ensure that they are within repeatability tolerances.Entering validated results into the reporting system.Maintaining the laboratory and its equipment according to company standards.Making recommendations on ways of improving the efficiency & accuracy of sample analysis.A range of analytical tests including Sapozhnikov, Hard Grove Index, Dilatation, Total Moisture, G Index, and Gieseler Fluidity testing.A range of physical tests including sample preparation, crushing, dividing and sample storage.RequirementsFull training will be provided to successful candidates. However, to be considered for this position, you will have:
A strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork.Strong numeracy and literacy skills.Prior experience in a coal testing environment is desirable, but not necessary.Good grasp of computers/technology including spreadsheets.Comfortable with manual handling duties.Ability to work to a flexible roster.Valid Driver's License.Competent within a strong safety culture.As part of the selection process, a pre-employment medical exam is required; including a drug and alcohol assessment.
