An opportunity exists for a Coal Quality Tester to work on a full time basis at our mine site laboratory based in the North Bowen Basin. If you have a drive to produce quality results and a strong team spirit, we would like to hear from you. Reporting to the Mine Site Supervisor, you will be involved in aspects of Quality, Turnaround Time, Client Service and Productivity. 
 
Key Responsibilities: Collection of a range of production and train samplesPerforming a range of preparation and analytical tests including proximate analysis, Total Sulphur and Calorific Value determinationsEnsuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructionsChecking and validating all results to ensure that they are within repeatability tolerancesMaintaining laboratory equipment: XRF, Proximate Ovens/Furnaces, Leco Sulfur, Leco CVOptimising turnaround time for samples whilst ensuring the highest quality of results is achieved and maintainedEnsuring Quality Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures are followedEnsuring a high standard of housekeeping and presentation of all equipment and work areasSkills/Qualifications:
A strong focus on safety, quality and team workAttention to detailGood Organisation and Communication SkillsReliable and TrustworthyPrevious industry experience would be an advantageValid Drivers' License12 hour shift workAs part of the selection process, a pre-employment medical exam is required; including a drug and alcohol assessment.Apply For Job
