The day to day ALS Coal is looking for Coal Quality Testers based at our Biloela / Callide site. This Full-Time role will include duties within the Physical Testing and Analytical Laboratory. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, your daily duties will include: Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructions Ensuring that all work complies with national and international standards Checking and validating all results to ensure that they are within repeatability tolerances Transfer validated results into the reporting system Maintain the laboratory and its equipment according to company standards A range of physical tests, including sample preparation, crushing, dividing and sample storage Full training will be provided to the successful candidates. As part of the selection process, a pre-employment medical exam, including a drug and alcohol assessment, is required. The Essentials A strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork Good grasp of computers/technology Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines Comfortable with manual handling duties, including repetitive lifting Eagerness to learn and adapt to new systems A valid forklift licence is desirable Previous industry experience would be seen as an advantage 12-hour day or night shifts may be required Working at ALS Our people drive our success at ALS.
