Curragh produces more than 12 million tonnes of coal per year with a mining fleet which includes 4 large draglines. Coal is mined from two mining areas and washed through two large plants with a number of different metallurgical products produced.About the Role:We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Coal Quality and Planning Engineer to join our team at Curragh Mine. This permanent position reports to the Senior Coal Quality and Planning Engineer and follows a Monday to Friday roster.In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of weekly coal flow schedules, aligning mine plans and CHPP processing capabilities with the broader business coal sales and product strategy. As an effective communicator with a strong production focus, you will play a key part in supporting the technical services function on site.Some of your responsibilities will include:Maintaining an accurate representation of the CoalFlow plan by reconciling actual mining to the plan at the completion of relevant periods.Preparing the Weekly CoalFlow plan based on the weekly mining plan and overseeing the short-term scheduling and release of daily mining and processing plans.Effectively communicating production plans and identifying business-critical risks and opportunities to all relevant stakeholders.Collaborating with the site geology team to maximise coal resource and identify and resolve coal quality risks and opportunities.Conducting regular pit visits to track coal exposure against the weekly mine plan.Advising stakeholders of deviations from production plans as they are executed.About You:Previous experience in coal mining, specifically in a coal quality or coal planning position.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.Demonstrated communication and stakeholder management capabilities.A proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities within coal flow schedules.A passion for working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve optimal outcomes.What we offer:With a short 15-minute drive to work every day and 2.5 hours from the Capricorn Coast, there are not many mine sites that can boast a quicker daily commute or the ability to reside on the coast spending work time in company accommodation and days off on the beach.
