About the Position Reporting to the Production Manager, the CNC Programmer is responsible for generating CNC programs manually and/or using CAD/CAM software (SURFCAM) for all machining operations across: 3 axis Double head rail CNC milling machines with the following controllers: SIEMENS FANUC FAGOR 3 axis vertical CNC milling machine: HEIDENHAIN Key duties include, but are not limited to: 2 D drafting and 3 D modelling of products for CNC machining; Proving all CNC programs before release for general use; Testing programs and closely monitoring machine operators during initial physical proofing; Ongoing reviewing of all CNC programs and making suitable alterations as required; Controlling and cataloguing CNC documentation, programs, and registers to meet company requirements of security, access, reference, and backup; Identifying and implementing production improvements in the machining function; Identifying, designing and arranging manufacture of machine tooling and jigs; Liaising with Production Manager, Supervisors and Engineering department regarding production methods, standards, specifications, interpretation of drawings and similar.
About You To be successful in the CNC Programmer position with the voestalpine Railway Systems team, you will need: Solid experience in programming for Heavy Industry (Rail industry highly regarded); Proven experience with macro programming; Strong understanding of technical drawing and manufacturing processes; Exceptional attention to detail; Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to motivate and collaborate with various teams; Ability to provide technical support to machine operators.
