Clozapine and High Risk Medications Coordinator NBCMHSAn exciting opportunity exists for motivated and enthusiastic Senior Nursing staff to apply for the Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 (CNC1) role as coordinator of Clozapine and High-Risk Medications across the Northern Beaches Community Mental Health Service (NBCMHS).
The CNC role will focus on providing consultancy support on site to medical staff and clinicians in relation to clozapine and high-risk medication management, support to external agencies such as General Practitioners (GPs) and provide clinical leadership over the delivery of clozapine and high-risk medication treatment across Northern Beaches Community Mental Health Service
The CNC role will also provide education, supervision, and training to clinicians and medical officer of NBCMHS regarding contemporary best practice for clozapine treatment, high risk medications and to external partners to ensure all monitoring guidelines are met for safe and effective practice across the service.
They will be required to practice within the CNC framework and meet the domains of practice for a CNC and will have a primary focus on Clozapine, Olanzapine IMI Clinic and Lithium for consumers of NBCMHS.
The NBCMHS comprises of Community Mental Health Teams each working in a multidisciplinary team comprised of nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers and psychiatrists. This ensures consumers and carers are offered a broad range of knowledge and experience in all aspects of adult mental health.
The NBCMHS aims to instil hope, promote well-being and support recovery in the lives of adults living in the Northern Beaches area who are affected by severe and enduring mental illness. We provide an assertive and intensive care coordinated service focused on the individual needs of each consumer. The NBCMHS aims to make a positive difference in the lives of those with whom we work.
Every consumer is allocated a Care Co-ordinator who will be the key contact to support individuals develop their recovery plan and personal goals.
