Role Overview
Join our team as a trusted Cloud & Infrastructure Solutions Architect and work closely with clients to design, implement, and optimise innovative IT solutions. This Canberra-based role focuses on providing architectural expertise, contributing to both presales and project delivery, and supporting the continuous improvement of IT services within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment. YOU WILL NEED TO HOLD A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE.
Key Responsibilities
Client Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, engaging proactively to understand business drivers, identify IT solutions, and foster ongoing collaboration. Solution Development: Contribute to and develop end-to-end IT solutions, including high- and low-level designs, solution briefs, proposals, statements of work (SOW), SOPs, and bills of materials. Architectural Governance: Provide architectural oversight across business-as-usual (BAU) and project delivery, ensuring alignment with operational and security standards. Presales & Technical Delivery: Perform presales activities, supporting solution development from concept to execution, and deliver technical guidance during project implementation. Process & Technical Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of technical processes and solutions for both client and internal engagements. Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external architecture teams to support solution delivery across on-premises and cloud environments, including Azure and AWS. Security & Compliance: Oversee the integration of security standards (e.g., ISM, Essential Eight) into architectural solutions, ensuring compliance with security objectives. Documentation & Handover: Ensure comprehensive documentation of solutions and facilitate smooth handovers to BAU teams. Required Skills & Experience
Proven Expertise: Minimum 5 years' experience as an Infrastructure Architect with strong capabilities in cloud design, particularly in Azure and AWS. Cloud & Infrastructure Knowledge: Extensive experience in Azure (IaaS, networking, storage, security), Office 365, and Microsoft Wintel platforms, with relevant certifications preferred. Managed Services Background: Experience working within an MSP environment, delivering secure and compliant solutions to clients. Technical Expertise: Strong skills across public/private cloud technologies, virtualisation, server, storage, and networking environments. Security Standards: Solid understanding of ISM, Essential Eight, and security best practices, with the ability to incorporate them into architecture designs. Documentation & Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills to ensure clear and effective solution delivery. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Experience in designing and implementing DR solutions and business continuity planning. Certifications (Preferred):
