We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer who will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based solutions for our system merger and integration projects.
This role is offered as a 12-month fixed term contract with potential extensions or permanency.
Key Responsibilities Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS).Develop and maintain cloud automation tools and scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads.Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate cloud solutions with existing systems and processes.Ensure that cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and highly available.Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and troubleshoot issues as needed.Manage cloud service providers and vendors to ensure that services are delivered in accordance with service level agreements.Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing and recommend improvements to existing solutions.Participate in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud infrastructure.Develop and maintain documentation of cloud infrastructure, processes, and procedures.Demonstrates compliance with policies and procedures to effectively operate within People First Bank risk appetite. Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures relevant to their role by keeping up to date with communications and assigned learning.About you You are an expert Cloud Engineer specializing in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure. Your role involves ensuring that the infrastructure meets organizational needs, maintains high availability, and delivers optimal performance.
Knowledge and Experience Extensive experience in IT, with a focus on cloud computing (AWS and Azure).Strong technical expertise in cloud computing, including knowledge of cloud infrastructure, platforms, and services.Experience with cloud IaaC and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.Building and deployment of pipelines using CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git etc.Knowledge and experience of working with container technologies (Redhat OpenShift and Kubernetes).Knowledge of cloud security and compliance requirements.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Qualifications and Memberships AWS or Azure Cloud Certifications.Experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies.Familiarity with containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Redhat OpenShift and Kubernetes.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.Who are we?
