Our client is seeking an experienced AWS Architect for an upcoming project for a bank client based in Melbourne and Sydney.
As an AWS Architect with 5 or more years of hands-on experience, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our clients' AWS Cloud environments. You will work on cutting-edge projects, providing valuable insights, and ensuring the success of our customers' cybersecurity and operational monitoring Platform needs.
The Specialist will work in a team with other senior technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). They will be responsible for informing technical specifications, ensuring compatibility, and incorporating their relevant elements of the High-Level Design (HLD) against the endorsed Architecture & Strategy, creating the follow-on specific Detailed Designs (DD), and prototyping and implementing the AWS capability under the direction of the Multi cloud lead architect.
Responsibilities: Lead the implementation of AWS Enterprise, Enterprise Security, and IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) to meet specific requirements, ensuring efficient data collection, parsing, and indexing.
Set up effective monitoring and alerting systems within AWS to proactively address issues and incidents.
Implement and manage security controls within the AWS environment, ensuring adherence to compliance and best practices.
Integrate AWS with other IT tools, systems, and data sources to provide a holistic view of data and enhance correlation and analysis capabilities.
Develop custom AWS apps, dashboards, and searches to meet unique business requirements and maximize the value of AWS.
Collaborate with other IT professionals, including network and security experts, to ensure AWS aligns with broader technology initiatives.
Requirements: Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps, and agile methodologies is advantageous.
Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for custom AWS app development.
Collaborate with other IT professionals, including network and security experts, to ensure AWS aligns with broader technology initiatives.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work directly with clients.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipment.
A valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required.
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically with AWS.
2+ years of experience in front-end web development.
12+ years of experience in IT development, particularly in the software or internet
Bonus Points: Experience with single-page applications (SPAs) and state management.
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
Familiarity with source code management tools like Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, and SVN.
Skill Matrix: AWS Core Services: Proficient in EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda.
Networking: Advanced skills in VPC design, subnetting, security groups, and load balancing.
Cloud Security: Strong in IAM policies, encryption, and security best practices.
Performance Monitoring: Expertise in using CloudWatch for monitoring and cost optimization.
DevOps & Automation: Competent in CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
Project Management: Skilled in Agile methodologies and team management.
Front-End Development: Experienced with React, Angular, and Vue.js for UI/UX development.
Version Control: Advanced knowledge of Git, GitHub, and GitLab.
