The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) team at the John Hunter Hospital is a dynamic group of multidisciplinary professionals working to support people with neuro-immunological diseases.
It is led by Professor Jeannette Lechner-Scott, and members of the team are situated in both the JHH and Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI).
The Clinical Trials group are currently involved in several Phase 2 to 4 international pharmaceutical trials as well as national Collaborative Research Group trials with both MRFF and industry funding.
This is a part-time 16h/week position with possible renewal after one year.
About the role:
The Clinical Trials Coordinator role is integral in delivering clinical trials services to our patients and investigative stakeholders.
In the role, you will be responsible for ensuring the coordinator of patient visits and conduct of trials in accordance with the principles of Good Clinical Practice in research (ICH GCP).
Key functions will include implementing protocols, recruiting patients, co-ordinating visits, trial databases and the CTMS, specimen management and processing and provision of general research support.
You will need to work constructively with monitors, sponsors, and investigators.
In addition to delegated clinical trials, you will provide back-up support to other trial coordinators.
You will engage in ongoing training as necessary and be provided professional development opportunities within the district, NSW Health and external associations.
You will be supported by a team of senior trial coordinators and researchers.
They will receive on-the-job training, as well as online training and the possibility to attend domestic conferences (if funds are available) for the purposes of professional development.
