Fixed term appointment until November 2025Full time (76 hours per fortnight)Medical Scientist Grade 1 Year 1-7 (RX1-RX7)Alfred Health locationGreat staff benefits!The Department The Medical Oncology Unit provides coordinated multidisciplinary management for adult patients with malignancies.
An important component of this care are the Clinical Trial/Research activities we participate in, which enable us to offer forthcoming investigational treatments to our patients.
The Role Have responsibility for the coordination and management of clinical studies including:The trial related care of patientsCollection, processing and transport of trial pathology samplesRelated clinical trial dataRegulatory managementEnsure all clinical trials are performed in accordance with the study protocol and in line with the regulatory, ethical and legal requirements outlined by the ICH-GCP, TGA, Note for Guidance on Good Clinical Practice (CPMP/ICH/135/95), the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, and the applicable state/federal privacy laws and institutional policies.Contribute to strategies to improve performance aligned with international best practice standards and departments expectations, in conjunction with the team leader.Qualifications and Experience Required Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Applied ScienceKnowledge of key concepts of Cancer BiologyBiomedical research laboratory experienceUnderstanding of clinical medical terminologyCurrent GCP certification and understanding of GCP principlesAbility to travel for investigator meetings as requiredStaff Benefits Generous salary packaging and novated leasing are available through MaxxiaAccess to health and wellbeing incentivesDiscounted health insuranceFor enquiries regarding this position, please contact Chris Brooks, Senior Research Manager - ******
