About the role Palliative Care is care provided for people of all ages who have a life-limiting illness, with little or no prospect of cure, and for whom the primary treatment goal is quality of life. Our service provides the opportunity for people to be cared for in their own home, hospital or hospice, in accordance with the patient's choice where possible. The role of the Clinical Support Officer (CSO) is to provide timely and accurate administration for the nursing staff members of the Palliative Care department. This important role focuses on the administrative and transactional services for the unit which then allows our clinical nursing staff to directly support and care for patients in their time of need. This is a broad and varied administration role where organisation skills and time management will be the key to your success. Key Responsibilities Completes work in accordance with identified timeframes and deadlines. Regularly update the nursing roster in line with any approved changes i.e. sick leave, etc. Payroll responsibilities including the collection and collation of timesheets and leave requests and data entry into Kronos. Participate in data entry activities that relate to patient care activities and support members of the health care team. Assist the Nurse Unit Manager with administration functions such as purchasing, IT, recruitment administration, training, travel and finance administration. What you bring Demonstrated organisational, interpersonal, communication skills. Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality as appropriate for this position. High level of computer literacy in a Windows environment including demonstrated experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high-pressure, high-volume work environment.
